Big Red
Hello! I am “Big Red”! A 1979 W-900-A Kenworth. My life started with Crock Construction Co pulling heavy equipment and a dump bed for sand gravel and stone. I’ve hauled anything from a D-3-Cat dozer to a full dressed 41 with a bald e and a ripper. On my last equipment move before I retired, my driver over revved my engine and that’s when I got a silver 92 V8. At least I got to keep my same transmission 9 speed fuller and 40,000 rears. At this time I was over 2o years old and was taken off the road and put on the lot for sale. After setting there for 3 years, my owner took me to the shop for a makeover.
I was stripped down. Engine pulled and replaced with a 475 hp a new fuel tank put tight against my cab. My driver side tank is now a battery box made from a Mack tank given to my owner by a good friend, J.R. Brown SR who passed away before I was finished. We continued my makeover by removing my front drive axle and air bags to make a 4 bag air ride. They extended my frame to fit a Chevy Dully Bed that had 28 inches added to its length.
To finish my look, they added the new bed, new running boards, train horn, and a new wood floor in the cab. They also added a new headliner and to finish me off they painted the interior and exterior of the cab and bed, lowered the front suspension by 10 inches and added an air bag system.
After paint and buffing, my friend Darrell Allen came by and painted my flames, stripes, and company logo.
Now we hit the road to truck shows in Englishtown, NJ, Kansas AL, and I-80 to Iowa.
